The AI Dispatcher Revolutionizing Trucking for Independent Drivers

Independent truck drivers and small trucking companies often struggle with the difficulties of daily work, too many responsibilities, including finding loads, negotiating rates, and a range of administrative tasks. Tapan Chaudhari, founder and CEO of Hey Bubba, decided to solve these problems by launching Bubba AI (bubba.ai) – an intelligent AI-based dispatcher designed specifically for this professional group.

It’s worth recalling that small trucking companies, operating between one and ten trucks, constitute the majority of the trucking industry, accounting for 96% of the entire fleet.

Chaudhari, with years of experience in the truck transportation technology industry, recognized the problem of finding loads, negotiating rates, and generally handling all the formalities for small fleets. The creation of Bubba AI is a response to this challenge, as this new assistant can autonomously find loads, negotiate rates, and handle administrative tasks.

“The biggest challenge for small carriers is the dispatch process. They often have trouble finding the next load and determining the route. As a result, many of them use external dispatchers, whom they cannot always trust when it comes to rate negotiations,” explains Chaudhari.

Key features of Bubba AI:

Intelligent load search: Bubba AI searches numerous load boards, analyzing route and rate data to find the most profitable offers.
Automatic negotiations: The application conducts real-time negotiations with brokers, aiming to secure the best possible terms for the driver.
Multilingual communication: Bubba AI allows drivers to communicate in their preferred language, translating their messages into English for brokers and freight forwarders (with Russian, Punjabi, and Mandarin languages coming soon).
Operational management: The application aims to comprehensively manage transportation operations, including route planning, compliance monitoring, and document handling.
Autopilot mode (planned): In the future, Bubba AI is expected to offer an autopilot mode, which will allow drivers to automatically find, negotiate, and book loads.
Relationship building: Hey Bubba is working on integrating AI-based relationship-building features, which will facilitate the establishment of long-term partnerships with brokers.
Integration with other services: Plans include integration with services such as truck parking reservations and vehicle maintenance scheduling.
To allow independent truck drivers to familiarize themselves with the capabilities of Bubba AI, Hey Bubba is offering three months of free access for new users. The application was also showcased last Friday at the Mid-America Trucking Show 2025 in Louisville, where attendees could see live demonstrations and talk to the team behind this innovative technology.
